I already finished submitting all of my files and my portfolio is finished as well. Here’s my live portfolio address in case I have not posted it before: freewebs.com/cybersevere/index.html
During Web Development 2 I’ve learned a lot about the process of making a live site for a real client, but I’m sure I have a lot more to learn. I’ve learned more complicated codes and I’ve worked on my javascript and dynamic website skills. I’ve come a long way since web 1 and even before web 1 when I just played around with html. My websites definitely look more professional and the codes are conciseand individualized. I really tried to work efficiently every class, and I’ve produced a lot of material so I hope I’ve earned an A. I also blogged every day that I came to class so I have records of all my work as well. I’ve always loved Web design and this class was definitely my favorite this year. I hope the skills I’ve learned during this course will facilitate my transition into the working world.

I went through all of my folders and made sure they were named properly and that they had links to material in my folder and not online images. I also had to go to my online portfolio and update the images from my folder. I also duplicated my web2 folder and deleted all the psds. This did not take that long, so i tried to figure out why the javascript blut filter would not work on my websites. I realized that the doctype was strict, so this filter does not apply.

I attempted to use a clip art image to make a new website background. I added a few filters and a masking layer to cut out the image of an apple and I applied some filters to the text and text-boxes as well. I used the chrome filter to make the scrollbar of the div box transparent.

In order to space out the text in the main text box of the site I was finishing last week I made an internal table and set the width of two cells to 3% and the main cell to 94%. I finished this site and uploaded it to my portfolio. This will probably be my last site in my portfolio for this class. I also went through a few of my photoshop files and website layouts and uploaded them to Massone so I could download them to my computer after the semester has ended. I updated all my folders and deleted old psd files that I already uploaded.

I made a basic page that had a div with width and height at 100% that i could fit a table inside and specify the dimensions. I also tried to figure out how to make a transparent inline frame, which can be done by using a certain javascript tag. I used different classes of links on the basic table site so that i could have two navigation bars with links to different pages on the site. The site layout will be fluid so the page can re-size and change the size screen resolution and page size of the viewer.

I uploaded the site I made yesterday to my cybersevere website and made a 100 x 100 icon. I also went through all of the icon files and rearranged my gallery so that my older sites are displayed last and the newer and more appealing sites are displayed first. I also edited the background picture for my cybersevere site to include a copyright. I opened up dreamweaver and started editing the code so that it is easier to read and I simplified the css.

I finished the background for the notebook themed site I made yesterday. I used dreamweaver to start a new html document, but i hard-coded the rest of the site. I decided to use different stylized bold tags to create different colored headers. I also used different scrollbar colors for the main page and the divs to add variety. I also figured out to customize the links so that they are centered and a certain width so that they do not change size when hovered over and can still change to bold on a:hover.

I opened up Flash but the program froze and I could not close it again, so I used photoshop to start a new website that will incorporate a fixed background design with overlaying divs. I think worked mostly on design in photoshop today because my designs have been lacking recently. I also added my name as a copyright at the bottom of the deli site that I created.

I checked out the setting for a motion tween in a previous flash project for my animated button, but when I applied the exact same settings the fade effect did not work. I figured out how to apply this effect by using two layers so I used this easier way. The end result was a color changing button, but it faded to grey at one point and I don’t know how to fix that. I tried to publish it as a gif, but the publish settings were wrong and it moved my whole animation off the canvas.

We started class by looking at information about Steve Ballmer and Bill Gates. I then worked on an animated button that changes colors in flash. I watched the movie for the rest of the class. Bill Gates was the one in charge of Microsoft, but Paul was the technical genius. Steve Jobs was responsible for creating Apple and he was responsible for the technical aspect of his company as well. Based on the portrayals of the characters in the movie, I think Bill Gates was more ethical because though Bill Gates stole ideas from Apple, his faults and mistakes seem to be less than Steve’s. The fact that Steve did not acknowledge his daughter and the way he pitted his company against itself was horrible. Overall, both Steve and Bill were not the nicest of people in general; They both are unethical.
